Education and Information Department (EID)

Under the direction of the Chairman and the Executive Director

1. Develop and administer a continuing campaign to educate the public and fully inform the electorate about election and referendum laws, decrees, procedures, decisions and other matters related to the work and duties of the Commission, the obligation to register and vote, voting qualifications and requirements, and the necessity for free, orderly and honest elections;
   
   
2. Conduct research and studies on information needs;
   
   
3. Prepare reports on the conduct of elections and Plebiscites for submission by the Commission to Congress and to the President of the Philippines; and
   
   
4. Perform other related functions.

Information Division

Under the direction of the Department Director:

1. Plan, and carry out a systematic and continuing campaign to educate the public and fully inform the electorate about the election and referendum laws, decrees, procedures, decisions and other matters relative to the work and duties of the Commission as well as the need for free, orderly and honest elections;
   
   
2. Develop informative and educational materials for multi-media use;
   
   
3. Coordinate with administrators of public and private educational institutions for the integration of the Commission education program with the school curricula; and
   
   
4. Perform other related functions.

Public Relations Division

Under the direction of the Department Director:

1. Prepare and issue press releases and statements for the Commission;
   
   
2. Serve as the source of information about the Commission;
   
   
3. Maintain liaison with government offices, media agencies, and other public and private organizations to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the education and information program of the Commission;
   
   
4. Plan and prepare photographic works, display jobs and other informative illustrations pertaining to the Commission and its various activities;
   
   
5. Reproduce and enlarge fingerprints and election records; and
   
   
6. Perform other related functions.
