1. The prospective bidder requested for reconsideration on the required type of battery pack for laptop units changing it from “8-cell Li-ion” to “minimum standard of 6-cell Li-ion”, contending that the 8-cell battery is only applicable to one laptop brand only, i.e. HP.

The Technical Working Group, per instruction of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Members conducted its review and research on the matter. As a result, it submitted thru its Memorandum dated June 18, 2012, reference manuals of four (4) differently-branded laptop units with 8-cell Li-ion battery packs which are available in the market.

Hence, the Bids and Awards Committee stands firm on the technical specifications for battery which is 8-cell Li-ion, as approved by the Commission En Banc.

1. Clarification on the “DDR3 Memory” for the i7 series Laptop units on whether the 6 GB requirement can be split in more than one memory slot.

Yes, provided that all requirements for the minimum technical specifications are complied with.
