The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) spokesman James Jimenez announced Thursday afternoon that the COMELEC en banc will be meeting with officials from Smartmatic and Total Information Management (TIM) noon Friday, July 3, 2009.

The meeting, according to Jimenez, is called by the COMELEC to require both companies to report on the outcome of their discussions to iron out differences.

Early this week, COMELEC Chairman Jose A.R. Melo gave the two companies until Friday to settle their differences.
