Comelec Intensifies Conduct of PCOS Demonstrations

As early as first week of August, the Commission on Elections with Smartmatic-TIM have already started conducting demonstrations of the PCOS Machine to different organizations and agencies which includes COMELEC provincial offices, academe, media, and non-governmental organizations.
Participants who witnessed the said demonstrations expressed their enthusiasm on the benefits of the automated election system and of the technology to be used in the 2010 elections.
For the months of August and September, forty-three (43) PCOS demonstrations have been conducted within and outside the NCR. For October, the Public Demonstration Coordinating Unit (PDCU) has lined up twenty-seven (27) demonstrations. To date, requests for demonstrations continue to outpour.
“With the delivery of the twenty PCOS machines, we can now intensify our efforts in educating the public in the different regions,” Jimenez said.
