FEATURES OF THE NEW SYSTEM^*

      As mandated by RA 8436, Section 7, the automated election system must have the following features:

1. use of appropriate ballots
   
   
2. stand-alone machine
        which can generate immediate results
   
   
3. with provisions for audit trails
   
   
4. minimum human intervention
   
   
5. adequate safeguard or security measures
