After the 25 September 2005 article on OAV at the Arab News in Saudi Arabia , the COAV received a deluge of emails from registered overseas absentee voters based thereat. Specifically, they are asking when they would get their voter's ID's issued by the Commission.
Due to the sheer number of emails received, we regret to have replied to only a few of them. We would like to inform our email senders from all over the world that we have read all their emails and each voter's record is being verified if indeed the voter's ID had been printed and issued. The COAV then continuously prints and distributes these IDs to either the Posts concerned or to the authorized representatives of the voters in the Philippines , if a request to that effect is made.
Those who were able to vote in the 2004 National Elections but who did not have their voter's IDs need not register anew should it be found in our records that their biometrics was digitally captured. Otherwise, they shall be advised accordingly to proceed to the Embassy or Consulate for the purpose of recapturing their biometrics. |
