The Commission on Elections today requested the Supreme Court to have Judges open their courts on Monday, October 29, 2007.
"There is a need for Judges to open their Courts on Monday in anticipation of possible arrests for varied election offenses" Acting COMELEC Chairman Resurreccion Z. Borra said.
As an "indispensable partner in public service," Borra expressed the poll body's appreciation for the SC's "invaluable support in the conduct of free, orderly and credible elections that enhance the political stability and socio-economic progress of our country."
