WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections, promulgated Resolution No. 7801 on January 11, 2007, providing among others for then only one (1) legislative district of Cagayan de Oro City;
WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9371, apportioned the City of Cagayan de Oro into two (2) legislative districts to commence on the May 14, 2007 National and Local Elections;
WHEREAS, the apportionment is provided in Section 1 of Republic Act No. 9371, which reads as follows:
“Sec . 1. Legislative Districts – The lone district of the City of Cagayan de Oro is hereby apportioned to commence in the national elections after the effectivity of this Act. Henceforth,barangays Bonbon, Bayabay, Kauswagan, Carmen, Patag, Bulua, Iponan, Baikingon, San Simon, Pagatpat, Canitoan, Balulang, Lumbia, Pagalungan, Tagpangi, Taglimao, Tuburan, Pigsag- an,Tumpagon, Bayanga, Mambuaya, Dansulihora, Tignapoloan, and Bisigan shall comprise the first district while barangays Macabalan, Puntod, Consolacion, Camama-an, Nazareth, Macasandig, Indahag, Lapasan, Gusa, Cugman, FS Catanico, Tablon, Agusan, Puerto, Bugo and Balubal and all urban barangays from Barangay 1 to Barangay 40 shall comprise the second district.”;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Commission, RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to amend Resolution No. 7801, including its attachments, insofar as the number of the Members of the House of Representatives and Sangguniang
Panlungsod of Cagayan de Oro City, as follows:

Let the Education and Information Department cause the publication of
this Resolution in two (2) daily newspapers of general circulation in the Philippines, and to furnish copies to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor and the Election Officer concerned for their information and guidance.
