In connection with the December 6, 2008 plebiscite to ratify the creation of Barangay Kanguan in the Municipality of Datu Piang, Maguindanao, pursuant to Muslim Mindanao Autonomy Act (MMAA) No. 232. The Result of the plebiscite is:

YES VOTES 4,237
NO VOTES 72

There being a majority "YES" votes, the creation of Barangay Kanguan, Municipality of Datu Piang, Maguindanao, is deemed ratified.
